Healing your tattoo:

Need some information on healing your tattoos?

Second skin:

-Second skin was originally developed for burn victims and has become an industry standard for tattoo artists. It acts like a scab so your body doesn’t have to spend extra time and energy developing a protective barrier and kickstarts the healing process.

Ideally the bandage is left on for 3-5 days. If your design looks blurry underneath the bandage or bubbles of fluid start to form between your skin and the bandage that is normal. This is plasma and a normal part of the healing process.

If the bandage is compromised in some way (peeling and exposing part of the tattooed area or a bubble pops, take the bandage off early).

You also do not want to get sweaty with the second skin bandage on.

The best way to take the bandage off is in a hot shower.

DO’S:

-Clean with unscented soaps and lotions

-Keep dry

-Make sure to have clean sheets and clothes to make sure that tattoo stays clean.

-Always wear sunscreen while out in in the sun after healing is done to protect your tattoo long term.

DON’TS:

-Submerge healing tattoo in a body of water, bathtub, swimming, hottub, ect.

-Overmoisturize, a thin layer a few times a day is more than good. Too much is like overwatering a plant, where it starts to do more bad than good.

-Scrub or scratch your tattoo, touch your healing tattoo excessively.

- Have your healing tattoo in direct sunlight or get sunburns, even after tattoo is healed.
